Apify MCP Server v0.19.1
Create a private Actor from files and edit its version's code through MCP.
Before you upgrade to v0.19.1
4 to fix`tools=api` now includes `apify-api-write`; previously writes needed explicit selection. Select only `apify-api-search`, `apify-api-details`, and `apify-api-read` for a read-only API tool set.
Remove `pageFunction` and `initialCookies` from direct `apify--website-content-crawler` calls; that tool rejects them. `call-actor` retains the Actor's original input contract.

The direct `apify--website-content-crawler` tool defaults `respectRobotsTxtFile` to `true`; explicit `false` is preserved. Qualified Apify-maintained Actors now advertise read-only annotations.
Use integer `limit` values of at least 1: `get-actor-run-list` and `get-key-value-store-list` allow up to 10, and `get-dataset-list` up to 20. Zero, negative, and fractional limits are rejected.
Remove the `method` query parameter from resource URLs. Synchronous-run GET endpoints are now refused; start runs through execution tools or API write requests instead.
Resource responses mask the session token and JSON `urlSigningSecretKey` and `password` values as `[REDACTED]`; API tool responses also redact these secrets.
The development HTTP server returns HTTP 405 for sessionless-era GET and DELETE requests without a session ID; legacy requests naming a session keep their stateful handling.

What changed in v0.19.1
The `versions` category adds `create-actor`, `update-actor-version`, `create-actor-version`, and `delete-actor-version`, replacing `source`. New API tools search operations, inspect schemas, and send requests; `tools=api` includes `apify-api-write` as of v0.19.1.
Also: Search and call the Apify API; copy or delete Actor versions; migrate the retired source selector; review API write access and stricter list limits.
Available in @apify/actors-mcp-server 0.19.1; local use requires Node.js 22+. Select `versions` or `api` explicitly; modifying account data requires Apify authentication.
New things you can do
Create a private Apify Actor from source files, optionally starting a build.
`update-actor-version` supports file hashes and version revision checks; `autoBuild` optionally starts a build after saving.
Create Actor versions from files or copies and delete versions you no longer need.
Search Apify API operations and inspect their parameters and request body schemas.
Read the evidence
Read account data such as webhooks, usage, and limits through Apify API GET requests.
Change Apify data through API POST, PUT, PATCH, and DELETE requests.

Fixed and improved
`get-actor-version` accepts an Actor's name within your account and returns its build tag when present.
Actor input fields with defaults can be omitted instead of being rejected as required.
Aborting an already finished run reports that nothing was aborted instead of implying a new abort.
The repository's development HTTP server accepts JSON request bodies up to 9 MiB instead of Express's 100 KiB default.
