Before you upgrade to v7.1.24
1 to fixSet `yabai -m config skip_window_focus_animation on` to retain animation bypass from v7.1.22 onward; it is now optional and defaults to off.
What changed in v7.1.24
`space --focus` now works with SIP enabled; `skip_window_focus_animation` makes animation bypass optional for focusing windows on inactive Spaces. The grouped releases also adjust focus-follows-mouse behavior and repair Intel scripting-addition compatibility.
Also: Adds optional animation skipping without the scripting addition; improves pointer focus and Intel macOS compatibility.
Available in v7.1.24, covering v7.1.19–v7.1.24. Use `skip_window_focus_animation` only without the scripting addition; other elevated features retain their SIP requirements.
New things you can do
v7.1.21 introduces animation bypass; v7.1.22 gates it behind `skip_window_focus_animation`, with further improvements in v7.1.23.
The README lists Intel Tahoe support, and the scripting addition is fixed for macOS 26.4 Intel x64.
Fixed and improved
`space --focus` now works with SIP enabled; v7.1.20 also improves performance of this path.
The scripting addition can disable Space animations on macOS 15.7 Intel x64 again.
