hyprwinwrap 0.56v3

Place a background window on a chosen monitor.

Before you upgrade to 0.56v3

Global and non-override opacity rules and `decoration:inactive_opacity` are ignored. Use Lua `opacity` (highest priority) or an opacity rule with `override`; otherwise backgrounds are fully opaque. The same opacity applies while interactive.

Behavior changedAffects: Background windows, including while toggled interactive.

What changed in 0.56v3

Lua `hl.plugin.hyprwinwrap.window()` accepts `monitor` (a name or selector) and `opacity` (0–1). Reloading config reapplies geometry, layer order and opacity to existing matched background windows; normal opacity rules are ignored in favor of explicit settings or override rules.

Also: Set per-window opacity, keep it while interacting, and apply geometry, layer and opacity edits on config reload.

Tag `0.56v3`, installed through `hyprpm`; its updated plugin build is pinned for Hyprland 0.56.0–0.56.2. The new fields use Lua configuration.

Fixed and improved

Choose a display with `monitor` and transparency with `opacity` in Lua. Config reload reapplies geometry, layer order and opacity to existing matched backgrounds; monitor selection is applied when a window opens.

ImprovedShow a chosen app window as the desktop background, behind all other windows.Inferred
