v0.1.0 · 13 things you can do

Browse and edit an existing SQLite database, run SQL, and manage backups from a browser.

What you can do with sqliteadmin

Browse SQLite tables and views with sorting, pagination, and SQL filters.

Since v0.1.0
Good to know

Requires an existing database and login credentials.

Stage row inserts, edits, and deletions, then review and commit or discard them together.

Since v0.1.0
Good to know

Grid editing excludes views, virtual tables, generated columns, and BLOB cells; rows need an accessible rowid or non-null primary key. Read-only mode disables edits.

Wrong?

Run SQL statements in the browser and inspect each statement's results.

Since v0.1.0
Good to know

Results are capped at 1,000 rows per statement; a run has a 30-second timeout and stops at the first error. Put BEGIN and COMMIT in the same run; unfinished transactions are rolled back.

Save named SQL snippets and load them into the editor for reuse.

Since v0.1.0
Good to know

Saving snippets is disabled in read-only mode.

Inspect database schemas and preview changes to tables, columns, and indexes before applying them.

Since v0.1.0
Good to know

Commit or discard pending edits to the affected table first. Read-only mode disables schema changes; virtual tables cannot be altered through these forms.

Create and download local SQLite snapshots of committed data.

Since v0.1.0
Good to know

Staged edits must be committed first. Snapshots are not encrypted. Backup creation is disabled in read-only mode, but existing backups remain downloadable.

Store SQLite snapshots in an S3-compatible bucket.

Since v0.1.0
Good to know

Requires an existing bucket, endpoint, credentials, and list/get/put permissions. Single-object uploads are limited to 5 GiB; multipart upload is not implemented. Failed uploads retain a complete local backup.

Schedule hourly, daily, weekly, or custom-interval SQLite backups.

Since v0.1.0
Good to know

Off by default; requires the host process to run and one scheduler owner per database/backup folder. An overdue schedule runs once after downtime. Retention is manual or via S3 lifecycle rules; read-only mode disables scheduling.

Restore SQLite from a saved snapshot or uploaded backup after validation and a safety snapshot.

Since v0.1.0
Good to know

Commit or discard all staged edits and pause host writes first. Uploads and S3 restore downloads default to a 1 GiB limit. WAL destinations require matching page sizes. Read-only mode disables restore.

Open an existing SQLite database in a browser using the standalone Linux or macOS CLI.

Since v0.1.0
Good to know

Requires a database path and username/password. Listens on 127.0.0.1:8081 by default. No external SQLite installation is needed; source builds require Go 1.26 or newer.

Start the admin UI in the background and check or stop it from the CLI.

Since v0.1.0
Good to know

Linux and macOS only. Background mode does not restart after crashes or reboot; supervised operation requires a service manager. Management commands must use the same overridden state directory.

Embed a password-protected SQLite admin UI in a Go application.

Since v0.1.0
Good to know

The host must register a SQLite driver. Backup/restore supports modernc and mattn APIs; other drivers need copy callbacks. Handler must be mounted at the root path; call Shutdown to release resources.

Share
Wrong?

Browse and query SQLite with admin mutations disabled.

Since v0.1.0
Good to know

Read-only mode also disables saving snippets, backup creation, scheduling, and restore; existing backups remain downloadable.

v0.1.0
First release

Manage an existing SQLite database from a browser.

Details

The first release provides a standalone Linux/macOS CLI and an embeddable Go admin UI. Use `serve` for foreground operation, `start`, `status`, and `stop` for background operation, or `--read-only` to disable mutations.

Also: Stage row edits, run and save SQL, change schemas, create local or S3 backups, schedule snapshots, and restore backups.

v0.1.0 is available as Linux and macOS release archives with a checksum-verifying installer. Requires an existing SQLite database and login credentials; building from source requires Go 1.26 or newer.
