Before you upgrade to v0.66.2
1 to fixLazygit exits with an error message when the repository or worktree disappears.
Read the evidence
Double-click timing uses when clicks were read, so queued clicks remain recognizable. The terminal is restored more reliably after a panic.
Use Go 1.26.0 or newer to build v0.66.2; `go.mod` previously required Go 1.25.0.
What changed in v0.66.2
The files panel labels nested repositories, removed submodules and worktrees, shows their status, and warns before discarding history or uncommitted changes. Unwrapped focused diffs support `H` and `L` scrolling; staging and diff navigation regressions are fixed.
Also: Scroll unwrapped diffs sideways, stage with custom diff prefixes, and open branch files in the correct worktree. Source builds now require Go 1.26.
Available in v0.66.2, including v0.66.1 changes. Requires Git; building from source requires Go 1.26.0 or newer.
New things you can do
The files panel labels these directories and shows their status; discarding warns if history or uncommitted changes would be lost.
Fixed and improved
Stage diff hunks and lines with `diff.mnemonicPrefix`, `diff.srcPrefix`, `diff.dstPrefix` or `diff.noprefix` configured.
With `gui.wrapLinesInDiffView: false`, scroll focused diffs sideways using `H` and `L`. Opening/editing branch files uses their checked-out worktree; long diffs render after scrolling far down and the jump-to-file menu lists all entries.
Search matches are highlighted at the correct positions when a custom patch is active.
