Connect an MCP client to local files, Git repositories, web pages, persistent memory, step-by-step reasoning, and timezone tools.

What you can do with Model Context Protocol servers

Read, write, edit, search, and organize files in allowed directories.

Present at 2025.8.4
Good to know

Access is restricted to configured directories; this is a reference server.

Retrieve web pages as Markdown or raw content and read long pages in chunks.

Present at 2025.8.4
Good to know

Can reach local/internal IP addresses; callers must control which URLs are accessible.

Store, search, and update entities, observations, and relationships across chats.

Present at 2025.8.4
Good to know

Uses a local knowledge graph file; configure persistent storage for container use.

Break problems into steps and record revisions or alternative reasoning branches.

Present at 2025.8.4
Good to know

Receives thought steps from the client; it does not generate solutions on its own.

Look up the current time and convert times between IANA timezones.

Present at 2025.8.4
Good to know

Requires valid IANA timezone names and Python 3.10+.

Inspect changes and commit history, stage files, commit changes, and manage Git branches.

1 other tool for: Inspect Git history
ExperimentalPresent at 2025.8.4
Good to know

Early development; requires Git and a local repository.

Exercise MCP client support for tools, prompts, resources, sampling, and progress notifications.

ExperimentalPresent at 2025.8.4
Good to know

A protocol demonstration and test server; its sample outputs are not real service data.

Allow temporary-file creation and rename in the graph's parent directory; mount the storage directory rather than only the graph file when file bind mounts prevent atomic replacement.

Action requiredInferredAffects: Memory deployments with file-only write permissions or a bind mount on the graph file.

Rediscover Everything's tools and prompts: e.g. `add` becomes `get-sum`, `printEnv` becomes `get-env`, and `sampleLLM` becomes `trigger-sampling-request`; use `demo://resource/` URIs instead of `test://static/resource/`.

Action requiredInferredAffects: Clients or tests hard-coding Everything tool names, prompt names, or resource URIs.

Move files without silently replacing an existing destination.

Details

Filesystem now rejects occupied move destinations, creates nested directories, and preserves UTF-8 across partial reads. Memory saves replace the graph atomically instead of truncating its only copy first.

Run the Python servers with their documented compatible MCP SDK version.

Details

Fetch, Git, and Time require MCP Python SDK 1.x, at least 1.29.0 and below 2.0. SDK 2.0 renamed APIs used by these servers.

Read the memory graph as an MCP resource and subscribe to its changes.

Details

Memory exposes memory://knowledge-graph; Filesystem returns arbitrary binary files as valid embedded resources. The grouped July releases also repair Fetch requests and expand Everything's URL elicitation tests.

Exercise background MCP tasks with status tracking and deferred results.

Details

Everything adds a simulated research task plus asynchronous sampling and elicitation demonstrations. Time returns an invalid-parameters error for unknown timezones.

Get suggested prompt arguments while filling in an MCP prompt.

Details

Everything adds completable prompts and dynamic/session resources, changes tool identifiers, and makes simulated logging and resource updates opt-in. Git stages named files through Git rather than direct index writes.

Filter Git commit history by start and end dates.

Details

Git adds timestamp filters and removes repository initialization. Filesystem search uses glob patterns; Time responses include the weekday and fall back to UTC when local timezone detection returns no timezone.
